An Ottawa man who’s on parole from an aggravated battery charge is facing new charges. Police say 33-year old Daniel J. Zeal stole things from a house in the 300 block of E. Prospect St. Monday morning and fled when a contractor working there confronted him. Next, Zeal allegedly stole things from a delivery van in the 500 block of E. Norris Dr. and attacked the driver who confronted him.
Police arrested Zeal a few hours later in the 800 block of E. Norris Dr. and booked him on the burglary, battery, and residential burglary charges. So far, the burglary charges have been filed in the court system and bond was set at $150,000. Zeal is on parole from a 2019 case in which he was charged with aggravated battery to a peace officer.
