A death investigation is underway in Mendota after a woman died at a home in the 1200 block of Jefferson St. Wednesday morning. Police Chief Greg Kellen says Mendota EMS personnel attempted life-saving measures on the woman but were unable to revive her. Mendota Police searched the home shortly after. The incident is still being investigated by the The LaSalle County State’s Attorney’s Office, Mendota Police Department, and Illinois State Police. The name of the person has not been released and the cause of death is still unknown.
