Five people installing gutters at a home northwest of Streator were shocked at about 11:10am Tuesday. The Grand Ridge Fire Department called two medical helicopters to the scene on N. 1659th Rd. One person was taken to the Streator emergency room, one went to St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, and three went to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Ottawa. The Associated Press reports three of the men are in critical condition and two are in serious condition.

Grand Ridge Fire Chief Tim Geiger says five people were on aluminum ladders while working on a house. Sheriff Adam Diss says a piece of aluminum gutter touched a power line and current traveled to all five men. All were knocked off the ladders, some falling about 25 feet.
