A plan to improve an ice skating rink in Peru is starting to move forward. The city approved awarding Vissering Construction the project to build out the future Schweikert Arena.
It will cost about one million dollars although $500,000 will be paid because of a donation from the Schweickert Family. City Engineer Eric Carls says he hopes the project will start in the next few months. The project would include building a 2,600 square foot building to provide restrooms, lockers, concessions, a skate rental area, and a fireplace.
