A political action committee is spending $1.7 million to tout the Consumer Fuel Price Gouging Prevention Act in nine Congressional districts, including Cong. Lauren Underwood’s. She voted for the legislation as it passed the House. House Majority Forward says it’s promoting the U.S. House’s work to crack down on gasoline price gouging. And it wants the Senate to pass the bill too. The bill’s supporters believe big oil companies are deliberately producing less oil than they could to keep prices and their profits up.
