Marseilles putting on fiesta for 50 years of Fun Days

The city of Marseilles is celebrating fifty years of Fun Days. The event starts on Tuesday, July 5th and goes until Sunday, July 10th. Deputy City Clerk Catherine Strottner says the event starts with the Ducky Derby at the Marseilles Pool on Tuesday at 5pm. But she says one of the best nights of Fun Days is Wednesday, because it’s family fun night. She says all the events will be free for the kids.

Strottner says one way to continue to support the event is to attend the carnival. $45 dollar mega wrist bands are being sold at city hall.

On Friday the senior luncheon returns to the Marseilles Lions Club starting at noon. On Saturday, there will be a fireworks display thanks to the Marseilles Fire Association. And there will also be a parade on Sunday, although Strottner says the route might change because of the Commercial and Broadway Street realignment project.
