An Ottawa man has been identified as the person who was pulled from his vehicle when he drove his car into the Illinois River at Allen Park Wednesday evening. LaSalle County Coroner Rich Ploch says the man is 20-year old Tyler D. Carson.
Ottawa Police Chief Brent Roalson says police tried to pull over the vehicle Carson was driving before he fled down LaSalle Street, over Veterans Memorial Bridge and into the river. An autopsy was completed but results are pending. The incident is still under investigation.
