Ottawa Elementary School Supt. Cleve Threadgill says he recommends having the school board pay off two school buses rather than deal with interest from a lease. Threadgill says the district received an extra one million dollars in transportation funds, which could be used to pay for six buses outright.
But the school board approved leasing the buses at a previous meeting. Threadgill says it would cost $6,000 to end the lease, but the interest would be a lot more. The board will have to make a decision in July.
