A semi truck that lost control caused an accident with two Illinois Department of Transportation vehicles on Interstate 80 westbound. The accident happened about a mile east of Ottawa Friday.
Illinois State Police say the preliminary investigation shows that the semi lost control, drove right onto the right shoulder, and struck the two IDOT trucks before it ended up in a ditch. No one was in the IDOT trucks.
The driver of the semi was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. ISP says only the right lane was closed for clean up. It was reopened less than two hours later.
