Republican governor candidate Bailey asks for continued support during stop in Utica

Republican governor candidate Darren Bailey says he believes the future of Illinois includes higher gas prices, higher energy costs, and possible food shortages if politicians like Gov. Pritzker stay in power.

He spoke in front of a group of supporters at Jamie’s Outpost in Utica Thursday during his tour of all 102 Illinois counties.

But Bailey also says that it’s not just Gov. Pritzker and Democrats that are holding the state back. He says establishment Republicans have settled in and don’t want to give up power.

On the issue of Caterpillar leaving the state, Bailey says it’s the first of many companies that will leave. He says Illinois is not a business friendly state but it can be changed.

He says will continue to focus on promises during his campaign like lowering income and property taxes and making Illinois safer. You can hear his full speech here:
