A new Riordan Pool will cost around $4.5 million. And a new fire truck will cost around $1.5 million. Ottawa City Hall could borrow up to $6 million to cover it. Finance Commissioner Wayne Eichelkraut says in a special meeting this morning, the City Council placed on file an agreement with Bernardi Securities to handle a bond issue.

Public Improvements Commissioner Marla Pearson says the council also approved a $64,700 contract for a company called NuToys to install a cushion-like surface at Thornton Park. Instead of running and falling on mulch, kids will have a built-in pad beneath them.

And the council placed on file a two-year labor contract with the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees for 3% raises each year.
