Cong. LaHood says US should restart Keystone Oil Pipeline to help lower gas prices

By WCMY News May 25, 2022 | 3:29 PM

Cong. Darin LaHood says it was a mistake for Pres. Biden to cancel the Keystone Oil Pipeline project. He says although it might not have prevented higher gas prices now, it shows how the US is dependent on foreign oil under the Biden administration.

He says the administration took a left turn by listening to radical environmentalists.

Pres. Biden has asked countries like Iran and Venezuela to try and produce more oil. LaHood characterizes that the US shouldn’t be begging countries like Iran and Venezuela for oil. He says the US needs to reverse course on ending the Keystone Pipeline and other pipelines and produce domestic oil here to bring down the price of gas.

LaHood is running for re-election in the newly redrawn 16th Congressional district that covers parts of southern LaSalle County.
