The city of Marseilles is eligible for a grant that could bring in three more full time police officers. The North Central Illinois Council of Governments will help the city apply for the three year $125,000 grant.

NCICG Community Outreach Planner Ali Brayboy told the council Wednesday that after three years, the city would have to pay for the officers themselves. Although they would already be paying a percentage of the officers pay already. She says the city is one of many other applicants in the US. Marseilles Police Chief Brian Faber says the city had over 16,000 calls last year.
