The Marseilles City Council approved their part of an agreement with the city of Ottawa for summer recreational activities. Ottawa residents will be able to go to Marseilles for swimming classes over the summer because Riordan Pool won’t open this season because it’s getting redone.

Two Ottawa employees will also go to Marseilles to conduct city rec programs Tuesday through Friday. Marseilles Mayor Jim Hollenbeck says the agreement with Ottawa could have kids from Marseilles go to Riordan Pool if their pool is closed in the future.

He says it’s a good start, and he hopes that both cities will be able to help each other in the future with other recreational programs.
