The hit-and-run traffic crash south of LaSalle Sunday claimed a life. Carl J. Telford of LaSalle was 45 years old.
Sheriff Adam Diss says he was riding an electric bicycle on Illinois 351 when a sport utility vehicle hit him. Based on what witnesses said, police are looking for a white, late 1990’s Cadillac Escalade with a yellow temporary registration plate. The crash was hard enough to knock the SUV’s passenger side mirror off.
Diss asks anyone with information about the case to call 815-433-2161 and press eight to talk to an investigator.
Telford went to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in Rockford and died Monday.
