The former Waltham North School building is coming down. The school board decided last year to clear the land and sell it. The district sold the former Waltham South School building to the village of Utica and it’s now Utica Village Hall. Since 2019, about 200 students from the district have been going to the new Waltham Elementary building on Illinois 178 on the north side of Utica. There were two school buildings because the district formed from two school districts, Waltham and Utica, in 2003.
