There are new sign regulations in Marseilles. City Attorney Richard Burton says the city was lacking sign regulations in certain zoning districts. Burton says the plan commission had to deal with multiple concerns including political and spite signs.
He also says the commission had to think about the size of different yards residents have.
The city council voted twice to table the change in the ordinance before it was adopted last month. Burton also says there were some changes to how businesses can display signs.
