Hundreds of school employees and their families went to the Knights of Columbus in Ottawa today for the annual Excellence in Education awards. LaSalle, Marshall, and Putnam counties Regional Supt. of Schools Chris Dvorak did it differently than in the past, coming out of the pandemic. Dvorak says it feels good to be able to do the awards again.
The State Supt. of Education was at the event. Carmen Ayala says teachers have really overcome big challenges over the last two years. The biggest is remote learning and they rose to it. The next challenge is helping students catch up, because remote learning slowed down academic progress.
