The city of LaSalle is going out to bid for the city hall roof. City Finance Director John Duncan says some of the money will come from $600,000 in federal COVID relief money the city received.

Duncan says the rain has been causing damage. He says water is coming in on second floor, third floor and basement.

He says he hopes the project will cost around $1.2 million to complete. He says the bidder will work on the roof and gutters first and then the city will focus on tuck pointing in the next year.

He says although the project will be happening during business hours, it shouldn’t affect business itself.

Duncan says he hopes the project can be completed by December 1st.
