The Menards store in Peru opened for business Sunday despite a fire early Sunday morning. The fire departments from Peru, Spring Valley, and LaSalle put it out. They went there at about 1:15am. Peru Mayor Ken Kolowski believes lightning hit the roof and started the fire.
