The Illinois Valley Community College Board approved spending about $453,000 to purchase new computers through Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds. It will include 350 desktops, 80 faculty laptops, and 160 Hub Monitors.

IT Director Jim Carlson says the college will replace 25% of its computers and AV equipment annually. It also includes creating a seven-year plan to upgrade the WIFI network.

Carlson says he realizes it’s an enormous commitment and he applauds the administration and board for making the decision.
