Peru’s operating budget for 2023 remains in the black. The city’s expenditures will be about $57.6 million.
But the revenue will be about $59.5 million which gives the city about a $1.9 million surplus. City Finance Director Justin Miller says about $10 million from the utility fund will go toward sewer separation and water main projects.
He says there will be about a $306,000 deficit in the utility fund, but that will be made up because of federal COVID relief money.
