High School Softball

Streator lost at home to Morris 3-1. Jaelyn Blakemore went 7 innings allowing 3 earned runs and 7 strikeouts.

 

Marquette won big over their host Plano 15-0 in 3 innings. Lindsey Kaufmann blasted a grand slam, scored three runs and was the winning pitcher.

 

Ottawa swept Herscher in a double-header at King Field. The Pirates won game one 4-1 and ended the day 13-9 in game two. 

 

Seneca played a round robin with Fieldcrest and Princeton. The Lady Irish defeated Fieldcrest 13-5 and lost to Princeton 12-2. Sam Vandevelde, Madi Mino, Zoe Hougas and Maddy Klicker each had multiple hits and triples on the day at the plate.

 

Serena defeated Henry 8-3. Maddie Glade and Jenna Setchell combined for 15 strikeouts and RayElle Brennan scored 3 runs.

 

Woodland hosted a win over Prairie Central 4-1. Cheyenne Burns pitched 7 innings with no runs allowed and 7 strikeouts.

 

High School Baseball

Marquette won a close one over Somonauk 1-0 at Masinelli Field. Logan Nelson batted in the lone winning run.

 

Ottawa lost to their host LP 7-5. Julius Sanchez hit the winning 2 run homer in the bottom of the 8th. Luke Cushing, Rylan Dorsey and Ryan Chamberlain each earned an RBI in the loss.

 

Serena lost at home to Henry 4-3. Camden Figgins and Hudson Stafford each had 2 hits and Leo Brennan earned two RBIs in the loss.

 

Woodland lost to Brown County 4-1 at the Peoria Chiefs Ballpark. Carter Ewing went 5 innings giving up 2 runs and striking out 8 batters in the defeat.

 

Varsity Tennis

The Pirates hosted 7 teams at the Ottawa Invitational. Sebastian Cabrera won a match in singles, Ethan Krafft and Noah Gross earned a win in doubles.

 

Streator and their host Princeton tied for 1st at the Princeton invitational. Davey Rashid and Ryan Beck each won their bracket in singles.
