Mary K. O’Brien has been an appellate court judge since 2003. She’s asking for the Democratic nomination to run for the Illinois Supreme Court. For about 20 years, she hasn’t been able to campaign on issues like she did in the Illinois House.
O’Brien says the way to build a consensus on something is to start with where everyone agrees and then work everything else out. She hopes that with the pandemic’s isolation ending, it’s easier for people to do that.
