St. Senator wants two week introduction of bills before a vote

Republican St. Sen. Win Stoller of Germantown Hills wants to reform the state budget process. He has introduced an amendment to the State’s Constitution that would require bills to be delivered in two weeks in advance of a vote.

He says he’s frustrated how the 2023 budget was passed. He says what frustrated him the most was how big the bill was and how much time was given to pass it.

Stoller says voting on a multi-billion dollar budget in the middle of the night needs to stop. Gov. Pritzker signed the $46.5 billion state budget last week.
