Unemployment went down from February to March, continuing a trend. The Illinois Department of Employment Security says the LaSalle County rate was 5.7% last month, compared to 6.1% the month before and 6.4% in January. In Bureau County, the rate was 5.1% in March, 5.4% in February, and 5.7% in January. Putnam County’s rates were 5.4% in March, 5.9% in February, and 6.3% in January. Grundy County saw the biggest drop with 4.1% last month, 4.9% the month before, and 5.1% in January.
