Mary Lou Combs, 93, of Marseilles, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Ottawa Pavilion.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 25 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marseilles with Father Ghislain Inai officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Seals Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles with prayers at 3:45 p.m. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles.

Mary Lou was born December 18, 1928, in Marseilles to Steve and Mary (Orolin) Faletto.

She graduated from Marseilles High School in 1946 and married Wilbert Glenn “Cedric” Combs in Marseilles on August 9, 1947. She worked for Guerrini and Guerrini Law office for fifty years. Mary Lou was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, its Altar and Rosary Society, and its funeral dinner committee. She was also a charter member of the Marseilles Lioness Club and a den mother for the Cub Scouts when her boys were active.

She is survived by her three sons, Glenn S. “Bird” Combs and Michael W. Combs of Marseilles, and David W. (Linda) Combs of Crestview, Florida; nine grandchildren, Steve (Brett) Combs, Mari Jo (Dan) Araujo, Mickey (Terri) Combs, Cindy (Natalie) Combs-Sprouse, Darrell (Wendy) Davis Jr., Melissa (Jeff) Fenoglio, Randy (Brenda) Nelson, Tim Nelson, and Julie (Joe) Reagan; 23 great-grandchildren; Taylor and Brody Combs, Kyler and Kaden Araujo, Gianna Mussari, Siena Combs, Carly, Peyton, and Cole Davis, Brittany Fenoglio, Matthew, Paul, Steven, Erik, and Ben Nelson, Stephanie Inskeep, John, Sarah, Amanda, Alex, Cuinn, Annabelle, and Eloise Reagan; six great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Anne “Dolly” Faletto of Marseilles and Gloria Eichelkraut of Ottawa; and a sister-in-law, Naomi Gilroy of Anderson, Indiana; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Mary Faletto, her husband, Wilbert Glenn “Cedric” Combs in 2002, her sister, Rose Seaborn Peek, her brother, Phil Faletto, a daughter-in-law, Hester Combs; and her brothers and sisters-in laws, Everett and Rodger Combs, Ruth Blue, and Elsie Cunico.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Marseilles Nursing Service.

Pallbearers will be Steve and Mickey Combs, Dan Araujo, Darrell Davis Jr., Jeff Fenoglio, Brad Combs, and Steve Seaborn.
