Running Ottawa city government during the next year will cost $67 million. That’s about $11.8 million more than the city expects in revenue. Treasurer Don Harris says most of the difference will be covered by money in the bank waiting for a storm water management project.
Harris says the department heads had reasonable budget requests this year.
The City Council put the budget on file this week. It’s for the fiscal year that starts May 1. The City Council will probably have a special meeting to adopt the budget a few days before.
