Results in baseball
Ottawa won big over Indian Creek 12-0 in 5 innings at King Field. For the Pirates, Payton Knoll pitched four scoreless innings with seven strikeouts, while also going 3 for 3 at the plate with five RBIs
Streator split double-header at Washington. The Bulldogs won game one 7-6 with Christian Benning going over 5 innings with 7 strikeouts. Game two, Streator was shut out 15-0 with Adam Williamson and Sean McGurk getting the only hits for the Bulldogs.
Newark lost at home to Amboy 9-6. For the Norsemen, catcher Lucas Pasakarnis batted two singles, one-triple and had three RBIs.
Serena outscored Ottawa late in the 7th to win 7-6 in JV baseball. The Huskers Carson Baker drove in Cam Figgins for the game winning run.
In Softball.
Serena won big at home over Fieldcrest 11-1 in 6 innings. Maddie Glade pitched a complete game in 6 innings with 7 strikeouts. Jenna Setchell, Katie Baker and Paisley Twait each had triples on offense.
Newark swept a home double-header over Amboy winning game one 11-1 and game two 8-5. Highlights from Lady Norsemen, Kodi Rizzo went 5 innings with 12 strikeouts and Dorothy Wood pitched 7 innings with 10 strikeouts.
In high school track
Ottawa played host to 15 teams at the King Track Field. For the Pirates, Joe Ovanic won the shot put, Marquis Green finishing first in the pole vault, Blake Watland was 2nd in the 110 hurdles and Weston Avercamp placed 2nd in the 300 hurdles.
At the Seneca Track and Field Invitational. The Seneca girls team won the title in a 15-team field. The Seneca boys placed fourth out of 16 teams.
Winners for the Lady Irish, Evelyn O’Connor in the 800 and the 1,600 meters, Faith Deering in the discus and Anna Bruno in the long jump. The relay teams also won 3 events in the 100, 200 and 400 relays.

The Newark girls team were victorious at the Rollie Morris Invitational in Spring Valley.
Winners for the Lady Norsemen, Megan Williams in the 100 meter dash and triple jump, Kiara Wesseh in the 100 hurdles and high jump, Tess Carlson in the pole vault, Lindsey Hatteberg in the long jump and the relay teams in the 100, 200 and 300 meter races..
Streator finished 10th with Abby Pierce winning for the Lady Bulldogs in the 300 hurdles.
Also in Spring valley,In the boys division, Streator placed 1st with individual wins from Kody Danko in the 800 meter, Cade Stevens in the long jump and Manuel Nieto in the shot put.
The Ottawa JV tennis team won the LP Invitational. Winners for the Pirates, Rylan Salas in singles and the team of Trevor Mortenson and Aric Threadgill and partners Alan Sifuentes and Ethan Farr in doubles.
