In varsity baseball
Ottawa crushed Sandwich 15-5 in six innings at Masinelli Field. For the Pirates, Pitcher Payton Mangold allowed just 2 earned runs and struck out 10 batters. Daniel Bruner, Ryan Chamberlain, Zander Baxter, Branden Aguirre and Conner Price each had 2 hits in the victory.
Streator defeated their host Lisle 14-8. Sean McGurk. Parker Phills, Brady Grabowski, Adam Williamson, Nolan Barr and Cole Martin each scored an RBI for the Bulldogs.
St Bede were winners at Newman 3-2. Daniel Dugosh, Luke Story and Jayce Ladzinski each had an RBI in the Bruins road win.
Seneca lost at home to Putnam County 7-3. Paxton Giertz, Calvin Maierhofer, Dalton Degrush and Casey Clennon had hits on the day for the Irish.
Serena lost at Aurora Central 18-8 in 5 innings. The Huskers Todd Smith had three hits, including a pair of doubles and two RBIs.
Newark lost at Yorkville Christian 9-3. Joe Martin and Lucas Pasakarnis each had a single and a home run for the Norsemen.
Earlville lost a tough one on the road at Somonauk 22-2 in 3 innings.

Ottawa were winners over their Route 23 rival Streator 4-1 at King Field. Pitcher for the Pirates McKenzie Oslanzi and Jaelyn Blakemore from the Lady Bulldogs both pitched a complete game with each throwing 11 strikeouts.
Earlville defeated their host Somonauk 7-1 Paige Marks had a strong performance striking out 12 batters and allowing only two hits for the Lady Red Raiders.
Seneca won big at home over Putnam County 15-0 in 4 innings.Taya Roe and Audry McNabb both blasted homeruns for The Lady Irish.
Newark won big at Rochelle 17-0 in 5 innings. Danica Peshia and Kodi Rizzo each had home runs for the Lady Norsemen.
