A free virtual program hosted by the LaSalle Public Library will talk about the importance of pollinators and how to acquire free wildflower seed packets. The library says less than 0.01% of 21 million acres of native wildflowers and grasses remain in the state, and that’s devastated wild pollinators who depend on pollen and nectar to survive.
University of Illinois Master Gardner Natalie Martin and Youth Services Librarian Donna Blomquist will host the event via Zoom on Tuesday, April 12th starting at 6pm. The event is free and open to the public. Its part of the Pollinator Pathways, a community project funded through the hash tag plant wild flowers initiative.
