New COVID-19 cases outnumbered recoveries for the first time since the first week of March according to the LaSalle County Health Departments weekly report. The health department says there were sixty-six new cases reported for a total of 28,915 so far and sixty recoveries for a total of 28,215.

That means there are 700 current COVID-19 cases which is up from 694 last week. There were also seven additional deaths for a total of 464 so far.

But the health department says four deaths happened in January, so they will be included in the January statistics. The department says it was due to a lag in death reporting within the state system.
