The 19th annual Illinois Motorcycle Freedom Run is scheduled for Saturday, June 18th. The Marseilles City Council approved the special event permit for the event at Wednesday’s meeting.
Middle East Conflict Wall Memorial VP Anna Russo says bikers will leave the Grundy County Fairgrounds at 10:30 and arrive in Marseilles for the ceremony to add more names to the wall. She says 13 names will be added this year.
But there won’t be a freedom fest hosted by the city like in years past. Russo says she was told that there isn’t enough money to hold the event, but there are no hard feelings.
She says the organization is planning to have their own after party at Glenwood RV resort. She says donations from the event will also go toward the wall.
