Harper’s Farm to finally become restored wetland

Wetland restoration will finally be done on the Harper’s Farm site. The idea has been around for two decades. Ottawa Mayor Dan Aussem says the Conservation Foundation is getting the land to restore it.

Aussem says Harper’s Farm will be a bigger challenge than Dayton Bluffs. Much of Dayton Bluffs was an actual farm, whereas Harper’s Farm has been mined.

Harper’s Farm is between the Illinois River and the west end of Canal Rd.
