Construction on US 52 and IL 251 in Mendota is starting Monday, April 11th. The Illinois Department of Transportation says construction starts at the underpass entering the city from the south and going up to where US 52 and IL 251 split. For Mendota residents, this could also be known at 13th Ave.
The $1.9 million project will include some road milling and resurfacing. Crews will also reconstruct sidewalk ramps.
IDOT says traffic could be controlled by flaggers when workers are present and some streets might be closed for a short period of time. The project should be completed by the end of the summer.
