Starting this Friday, the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses is returning to in person meetings after two years of waiting because of the pandemic. That includes the hall in Ottawa, which will have its first in person meeting on Sunday.
Ottawa Elder Paul Zenke says members couldn’t be more excited to return. He says the reason the organization waited so long was to make sure that everyone felt safe. He says the organization has several members from different backgrounds and different health situations.
He says during the pandemic, meetings for the Kingdom Hall were being held on Zoom. But Zenke says even though the doors to the halls are reopening, there isn’t a date set for members to start knocking on doors again.
He says because of COVID-19, members have been trying to get the word out in other ways. Members have been working on writing letters and making phone calls.
We also spoke with Jehovah’s Witnesses Spokesperson Aaron Purvis. You can find the conversation we had with him Zenke here.
