The LaSalle County Board Property Committee will get bids and award contracts for some courtroom improvements. Court Administrator Lori Wakeman says the county is getting up to $130,000 from a $10 million statewide courtroom improvement grant package. The county got approval to run new wiring and install computer equipment in the criminal courts.
Wakeman says the county may not get an opportunity for that kind of work with state money again. The full County Board gave the Property Committee authority to handle the bidding to save time and get the project done by the grant deadline. Normally, the bids would go before the full board for approval.
