The LaSalle County Board sent a recommendation for a home occupation license back to the Zoning Board of Appeals for a re-think. The applicant wants to have a construction design service with support staff, customers on site, and a second driveway to the business building. That sounds like something that requires a different zoning classification.
County Board attorney Patrick Herrmann says for a home occupation, the primary property use must be for a home. There’s not a home on the lot now. It’s at N. 4099th Rd. and Illinois 23 near Harding.
