One Illinois congressman is asking to be reelected for his fourth term. Cong. Darin LaHood is running in the newly drawn 16th congressional district that covers southern LaSalle County.

He says it can be frustrating to live in Illinois, especially with the terrible governance of Chicago politicians. He says he continues to be an advocate for a good business climate. He says the state needs new policies to support small and rural businesses.

He’s a former Assistant State’s Attorney for Cook and Tazewell counties and lives in Dunlap. LaHood is on the House Ways and Means committee which focuses on government spending, taxes, and healthcare.

But he was also appointed to the House Intelligence Committee and says he supports Ukraine and their fight for democracy. But he says there is another issue he wants the federal government to focus on. He says we need to enforce the rule of law on our southern boarder.

He also serves on several caucuses including the Congressional Soccer Caucus. Three other Republicans are also running in the primary for the newly drawn district.
