A $100,000 grant has been given to the Ottawa Community Food Basket through the Kohl’s, A Community with Heart Program. Executive Director Marissa Vicich says the donation is simply life changing for the organization.
The food basket will be able to make upgrades and expand its capacity to better serve the community. They were one of eight different organizations in Illinois that were picked to receive a share of eight million dollars in donations from the company.
Other organizations in Illinois include the Fish Food Pantry, four Boys and Girls Clubs, and the National Alliance on Mental Health in Chicago.
