A wild goose chase meant some real serious business for a Lake Holiday family Saturday. The LaSalle County Sheriff’s Department says a girl was walking her dog, the dog saw some geese, and the dog took off after them dragging the girl along by the leash. They ended up on the ice at the lake and fell into the water.
The girl’s father went in to get them out. After she got out, Somonauk Fire Department rescuers were called to help the man and dog. They were checked out for hypothermia and are reported to be okay.
