Correction: This story has been corrected to remove Democrat Debbie Meyers-Martin from mention of the 38th Illinois Senate district. She’s running in the 38th Illinois House district.

Republicans Jim Marter, Scott Gryder, Mike Koolidge, and Jaime Milton filed paperwork to run in the 14th Congressional district when filing began Monday morning. That district will cover northern LaSalle County. Incumbent Democrat Lauren Underwood also filed.

In the 16th district, covering southern LaSalle County, Republican Darin LaHood was the only filer.

Republicans Dennis Tipsword and Donald Rients filed in the 105th Illinois House district, covering southwest LaSalle County. In the 106th for southeast LaSalle County, the lone filer was Republican Thomas Bennett. Incumbent Republican Jason Barickman filed in the 53rd Illinois Senate district, which will include the 105th and 106th House districts.

Incumbent Republican David Welter will face at least one challenger in the Illinois House 75th district primary. Jed Davis is the other one who filed for the race when filing began Monday morning. Incumbent Democrat Lance Yednock filed in the Illinois House 76th District. In the 38th Senate district, accompanying them, is incumbent Republican Sue Rezin.

In the Illinois House 73rd district for parts of Bureau County is incumbent Republican Ryan Spain. In the 74th are Republicans Bradley Fritts and Li (LEE) Arellano. In the accompanying 37th Senate district are Republicans Win Stoller and Brett Nicklaus.

Jason Helland filed in the Republican race for judge in the 13th circuit.

Candidates have until next Monday to file, so there will likely be many more candidates by then.
