Most of the trucks in the convoys going through Oglesby didn’t pull through the Love’s Travel Stop this afternoon. Hundreds of people were there to welcome them anyway and to make their own protest against mask requirements, inflation, and other problems.

Carl King led the convoy from Idaho. His employer, Gold Ring Transportation of Twin Falls, supports him and donated the truck he’s driving for the cause. His trailer was loaded with food, drinks, and various supplies drivers might need while traveling to or camped out in the Washington, DC area where they hope to make their impressions on the country’s political leaders.

Another truck arrived to take the supplies. Kendra Smith supported the drivers by helping collect the items.

Many of the signs and flags were clearly political. They opposed Pres. Biden or supported a Donald Trump comeback for the 2024 Presidential race. For some in the crowd, it was a religious event to pray for the truck drivers and represent Jesus. Molly Krempski’s family runs a church from their basement in Yorkville. They filled containers of goods.

Convoy lead driver Carl King says more about what he’s doing in this interview:
