More local communications services are working again. A fiber optic break in Cicero Tuesday stopped internet, telephone, and TV services for many people in this area. Some services were back to normal late Tuesday night; most weren’t. A Marseilles resident says her MTCO internet was on again when she got up at 2am today.

MTCO and Illinois Valley Cellular say their services should be back, but they also say some customers may need to call during normal business hours today for help. MTCO says reboot your router or TV interface box if services you get from the company aren’t working. Calls between landlines and Illinois Valley Cellular telephones were going through again this morning after a couple days of just text messages and cell-phone-to-cell-phone service.

Illinois Valley Regional Dispatch says 911 on affected systems was partially restored by Thursday. Calls were routed through but without data that tell the emergency services where someone is.
