There’s no estimated time of restoration for the cell phone and internet service disrupted because of a fiber optic line problem in Cicero. MTCO says repair crews are ready, but they must coordinate their work with a railroad company whose track the fiber optic line runs alongside. The railroad company requires its own safety coordinators to be there.
The problem started at about 11am Tuesday and also affected some cable TV transmissions and websites. Some of those services were restored late Tuesday night. However, the problem is still affecting other services across a wide region today, including cell phones and internet in LaSalle County.
