IVCC Ottawa Center building to be examined for settling

City Commissioner Marla Pearson wants to deal with a small problem inside the Illinois Valley Community College Ottawa Center building before it becomes a big problem. There’s a big vault that’s weighing on the building’s supports. The building is settling there.

Pearson says problems found so far aren’t bad enough to worry about the building falling down or people in it being in danger. An engineering firm will find out just how bad the problem is. The city of Ottawa owns the building and leases it to IVCC.
