No more applications will be taken by Ottawa City Hall for the veteran banner program. City Planner Tami Koppen says eighty applications were submitted in four days.

The city will only use sixty of the submissions on banners that will be placed on downtown light poles. There has also been a change in how long the banners will be displayed.

Commissioner Marla Pearson says were originally planned to be displayed for two years. They will now be displayed for a month at one time, two weeks prior to Memorial Day and Veterans Day, and then two weeks after for one year.

City Engineer Tom Duttlinger is sponsoring the program.
