A plan has been announced to realign Commercial and Broadway Street in Marseilles.City Engineer Mike Etscheid says that the project is supposed to start on May 2nd and could be done by October depending on the weather.

But he says before the concrete can be laid, other companies need to do some work first. He says Nicor needs to relocate some gas mains and Ameren needs to relocate some power poles.

Etscheid also says that residents might see something new while the construction is going on. He says the city will have temporary traffic lights.

Mayor Jim Hollenbeck says he’s asking resident to patient as the project is completed. There will also be alternate route for truckers announced in the future.
