Last night in girls basketball
Marquette won big at Bader Gym over Flanagan 77-38. For the Lady Crusaders, Izzy Garkey and Josie Wager each scored 17 points and Lilly Craig finished with 12 points.
Seneca were winners at home over Dwight 52-28 and won the Tri-County Conference regular season championship. Kennedy Hartwig scored 17 points, with Emma Smith adding 13 points for the Lady Irish.
LP lost at home to Sycamore 64-49. Brooklyn Ficek scored 21 points for the Lady Cavaliers in the loss.
Newark defeated Earlville 55-33. Kellie Snyder finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Norsemen. Elizabeth Browder led the Lady Red Raiders with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
St. Bede won at home over Bureau Valley 60-36 and the Lady Bulldogs of Streator lost at Reed-Custer 42-33.
Girls games scheduled for tonight: Ottawa faces Sandwich at Kingman Gym, Seneca is at Byron and Morris is home to take on Kaneland.
The Streator girls bowling team competed at the Normal West Regional in Bloomington. The Lady Bulldogs Michelle Dobson advanced as an individual to the La Salle-Peru Sectional on Saturday.
The LP-Ottawa Co-Op swim team hosted Kewanee in their regular season finale. Daniel Reinhardt won the 200 medley, Owen Phillips won the 100 butterfly, Chris Lowery won the 100 freestyle and Duncan Perry won the 100 backstroke.
In junior high basketball, the 8th grade Shepherd team lost to Minooka 49-37 in the regional championship game. For the Rams: Griffin Dobberstein had 19 points and Lucas Farabaugh finished the season scoring 6 points.
