The County Board Property Committee could get a quote this week to find out what it would cost to update the County Board Room. One area that the LaSalle County IT and Central Services Committee wants upgraded is the sound system used in the board room.
Chairman Don Jensen says that could include new microphones that could pick up sound better for people who are talking. Board Member Charles Borchsenius says it can be tough to hear other members that are talking.
He says it involves the masks and also the fact that people can speak quietly.
Board Member Alan Erbrederis says he would want the county’s IT director to look at a better directional microphone because of excess noise. The project could include improving the TV’s as well, and give board members tablets or laptops.
IT Director John Haag said in January that the money for the project could come out of the federal COVID relief money the county received.
